Similarities between Christian creation and the Iroquois creation story

The Earth’s on turtles back and the Iroquois creation story have many similarities. Both stories portray a turtle that is used to represent earth (land). Earth grows on the back of the turtle’s back and this starts the creation of earth. Each story uses the turtle to grow the earth on the shell. The stories has woman to bare the child. The Iroquois creation story the woman bearing her child descends to the deep part of the unknown darkness in which monsters gathered around her. The Earth on turtle’s back the skyland’s wife looses her footing and falls through the hole the great tree was uprooted from. The animals gather around her in the water when the two swans come down to the water from catching the woman.
